Internal Linking Audit Tool
The Internal Linking Audit Tool analyzes all the headers on the webpages or sitemap you submit,
cross-checking each one for potential internal linking opportunities. When the tool finishes
running, it provides a score ranging from 0% (indicating a low likelihood of good internal
linking opportunities) to 100% (suggesting an excellent internal link opportunity). If a header
is duplicated, you’ll receive a 100% match.
Pro Tip: To achieve the best results, submit a segment of your website (e.g., /blogs/).
If you submit all pages at once, the volume of data may be too large, and the tool might time
out. I recommend submitting 50-100 links at a time.
How do I use the tool?
Submit a sitemap URL or a list of URLs (one per line). Then, click “Run”.
Why is internal linking within similar content sections important for SEO?
Internal linking within similar content sections is vital for SEO because it helps search engines understand the structure and hierarchy of your website. Proper internal linking:
- Improves Crawlability: Search engines can discover and index more pages on your site.
- Distributes Page Authority: Links pass authority from one page to another, helping lower-ranked pages improve their visibility.
- Help's User Experience: Users can easily navigate to related content, increasing engagement and time spent on your site.
- Boosts Keyword Relevance: Linking related content helps reinforce keyword relevance, improving your chances of ranking for those terms.
Effective internal linking strategies ensure that all important pages receive adequate link equity, helping them to rank higher in search results.
